Criminal Justice – Crime Careers develop a proposal outlining the need for future research on a specific type of criminal career (e.g. violent crime, occupational crime, gang crime). In doing so, you will review and summarize a body of literature relevant to the proposed research. Key theoretical points to be discussed will include the onset, success and desistance from criminal careers. On the basis of your literature review (6 – 8 pages), develop a proposal (3 – 4 pages) detailing how you would choose to study the given type of criminal career. The research methodology must propose the collection of at least one primary data source (e.g. offender interviews, self-report survey, participant observation). On the basis of your research proposal, develop a set of hypotheses and anticipated outcomes. Papers must include a title page and a reference page. Only peer-review academic sources may be used. APA format, 9 – 12 pages double spaced, using 1-inch margins and 12pt Arial font preferred
