Overview
Applied research is a method in which the researcher seeks to improve outcomes by offering practical solutions for a variety of problems, challenges, and shortcomings present in almost every educational setting. Applied research is practical in nature. Educators may use it to improve academic achievement, assessment outcomes, social skills, challenging behaviors, teaching skills, or a variety of other problems of practice. Applied research offers educators the opportunity to make improvements by solving a real-world educational problem of practice through practical research that involves participants who are most closely involved with, and knowledgeable about, the problem of practice or topic.
Instructions
For this assignment, you will use the information from the textbook reading in Module 1: Week 1 to write a Central Research Question and Purpose Statement for approval. This is a 2-page assignment.
· The first page should be a correctly APA formatted title page that includes the title of your proposed study. For the title, you must rewrite your central research question as a recommendations statement. For example, if your central research question is: How can the problem of low test scores on the Ohio Educational Assessment for Science be solved at Hampton High School? Then the title of your study would be: Recommendations for solving the problem of low test scores on the Ohio Educational Assessment for Science at Hampton High School.
· The second page should include the Central Research Question and Purpose Statement for your study. Choose one of the following two options below to complete this assignment. You must have an approved topic to conduct your research, thus the textbook reading is important to be successful on this assignment. See the example.
