For the Capstone project I choose to speak about Abortion. I believe this is a very controversial topic that is currently very relevant and will continue to be throughout the future. It is a very important aspect in any woman’s life as the ability to be able to have the procedure done can greatly impact one’s life. It is also connected to many aspects of health care such as ethics, policy and regulations as well as finances. As stated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services; 65,949,108 individuals were enrolled in Medicaid in March 2019 (The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 2019), many of these individuals at some point are impacted by abortion. Thus, being able to receive abortion services in a safe environment regardless of personal beliefs or financial status is not only essential for health care but it can sometimes save a woman’s life. This is a topic very well connected to healthcare administration as regulations on access to the service are constantly changing and evolving and being able to maneuver through the changes is a key factor in managing any kind of health care organization. Overall, abortion is a topic of constant change which will make it an interesting and instructive research project.
